Forage Collards

These forage collards grow quickly and produce large attractive leaves.  The highly nutritious leaves can produce grazing all summer and into the winter.  Forage collards have protein levels of 20-25%.  The forage collards also have a deep root system which aids soil conditions.  

Planting:

• Plant up to ½“inch deep

• August 1st into early fall

• Drill 4-6 lbs. per acre

• Broadcast 6-8 lbs. per acre

• pH: 6.0-7.0

Soil Type Preference: Heavy or light, well or poorly drained
